Biography

Sam Falconer is an illustrator and artist based in the UK with a particular interest in science.

He studied illustration at Kingston University in London and has since gone on to work with a diverse range of clients across many industries. He utilises digital painting and collage techniques, often combining the two to create intricate scenes within a larger subject.

Sam has worked with clients including Science, Nature, National Geographic, New Scientist, Scientific American, Penguin Random House, The Guardian, The Times, The Washington Post, Wired and Youtube. His work has been featured by outlets including It’s Nice That, Digital Arts, Juxtapoz, illustration Age and IdN magazine.

Sam’s work has been exhibited internationally, including in a solo exhibition at The Coningsby Gallery in 2018. He has also recently entered the children’s book world, illustrating the popular Life Cycles and Water Cycles titles for DK.

“Sam’s capacity to take quite lofty, ethereal ideas from the world of science and simmer them down into a magical yet direct concept is second to none. His style is like no other I’ve seen and he has always proved a pleasure to work with.” - Joe Eden, Art Editor at Science Focus Magazine
