We are delighted to announce that Debut Art now represents Xinmei Liu.
Xinmei Liu was born in Shanghai, China, and now lives and works in New York. She has a BFA in Communications Design from Pratt Institute, and an MFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts.
Xinmei’s work has a clear visual identity, which belies her status as a recent graduate. Her images are rich in narrative, curiosity, nostalgia and fun, inspired by her cultural background, social issues, childhood experience and history. She cites vintage adverts, packaging, Asian calendars and propaganda posters as key influences on her style.
