The Royal Cotton Bed, inspired by the royal bedrooms of Versailles, engages with the local royalty – cotton. It acts as a water-to-cotton exchange post between the city and local farmers and processes cotton into fabrics and clothing to promote diversity of locally produced goods in the face of trade war with China.
The Gift: Freedom, Equality and Diversity
The project is the new 21st century Statue of Liberty – a gift from France and Europe to the USA in hope to convince President Trump rejoin the Paris Climate Agreement. The gift rethinks the American city, Paris, Texas through the values of the climate agreement and the romantic lens of French Parisian symbolism of freedom, monuments of equality and art of diversity.
