The Conjurer Reinterpreted
Vilius Vizgaudis was born in Lithuania in 1989 and now lives and works as an architect and illustrator in Copenhagen, Denmark. Vilius Vizgaudis has a BA in Constructing Architecture from VIA University College (Aarhus, Denmark), a BA in Architecture from Aarhus School of Architecture, Denmark and a MArch in Architecture from The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, London where he graduated with distinction under the tutelage of CJ Lim in 2019.
Vilius’ approach to design and illustration is an exploration of narratives drawn extensively from architecture where the surreal and impossible is mixed with detailed reality. His inspirations stem from historic art as well as comics and pop-culture. In his work Vilius employs techniques of computer generated and hand drawn graphics collaged into a seamless imagery to convey stories.
Vilius has worked on a wide range of built architectural projects in Denmark, Norway and UK, but has also produced a number of book illustrations as part of his architectural research for professor CJ Lim at The Bartlett (release pending).
