For Peter Grundy last year was the year of the Smart City with two major projects in Europe relating to this global phenomenon. A large city energy campaign for M&C Saachi in Paris followed by covers and information images to promote CityTouch in Dusseldorf, Germany.
What are Smart Cities? Thats a city that takes care of itself and its people by managing energy and infrastructure for the greater good. And its big business too, last year the engineering firm Arup estimated that the global market for smart urban services will be $400 billion per annum by 2020. Plenty of scope then for visual coms.
