Morten Morland has been political cartoonist for The Times since 2002. After studying journalism he went on to study Graphic Design at Surrey Institute of Art and Design, from where he graduated in 2003.

An early fascination with the spectacle of people falling led to a passion for drawing expressions, contortions and peculiarities in general. Morten’s continued enthusiasm for people’s idiosyncrasies is apparent in the both the concepts and style of his work.

His ability to communicate ideas and characteristics, and use humour to tackle often complicated issues, has attracted clients from advertising, design, editorial illustration and animation.

Morten’s cartoons from The Times have been featured in several books and are exhibited regularly in the Political Cartoon Gallery in London, the London Cartoon Museum, and other venues both nationally and internationally

Morten won the PCS Cartoon of the Year Award in 2008 and 2005 and was runner-up for the same award in 2007. He was named best newcomer in 2004.

Previous clients include: The Times, Times Educational Supplement, Agderposten (Norwegian daily newspaper), Economist Magazine, Channel 4 News, SKY One, BBC Four, Breakthru Films, GQ Magazine, Men's Health Magazine, På Menyen, Spill and Building Magazine.
