In 2000, he based himself in Sydney, Australia.
Michel's humourous illustrations have appeared in publications such as The Times, the Financial Times, Reader’s Digest, The Sydney Morning Herald, the Australian Financial Review and the Bulletin. As a book illustrator, he has worked for publishing houses such as Harper Collins, Macmillan and Random House.

Michel has participated in group exhibitions in Germany, London and Sydney, and has exhibited his drawings in several solo shows in Sydney.
