Mac Premo throws right, bats left. He was born in Washington DC, in 1973.

Twenty-two years later Mac Premo graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design. Armed with a BFA in illustration and animation, Mac Premo moved to New York and began directing commercials.

In 1999, Mac Premo shifted his focus from television to carpentry and art. He has initiated and participated in several major public art projects in Belfast, Northern Ireland as a member of OAR, a five-man collective of Belfast and Brooklyn - based artists. In addition to Belfast, Mac Premo's work has exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, Washington DC, and PS1 MOMA in Queens. Mac’s fine art sculptural and collage work is represented by Pavel Zoubok Gallery in New York.

He has won 4 New York Emmy awards: a 2008 Emmy for a public service announcement he wrote, animated and edited for the Atlantic Avenue Artwalk, an open studio tour along South Brooklyn’s main corridor; a 2009 Emmy for a commercial he wrote, animated and edited for BAM (the Brooklyn Academy of Music); two 2010 Emmy awards for his most recent Artwalk public service announcement: best commercial and best graphics.

Along with studio mates Oliver Jeffers and Aaron Ruff, Mac co-founded / created a product line under the name You & Me, The Royal We. He is a 2008 fellow in Video from the New York Foundation for the Arts. He currently makes art and illustration and commercials and dinner, most nights.

Mac lives in Brooklyn, New York with his wife Adrianna and their daughters Frieda and Leni who are totally radical.
