Sam Vanallemeersch AKA Kolchoz AKA Sovchoz likes to do two things:
1) As Kolchoz, Sam Vanallemeersch looks at the core design of a picture, meticulously composing and recomposing with colored shapes to create form and subject as equal. A more graphic design-like approach of illustration if you must.
2) As Sovchoz, Sam Vanallemeersch likes to do the opposite as well, drawing from scratch with nothing but a blank piece of paper, some pens and intuition. Molding all types of imagery into a detailed world with subconcious origins.
The first thing he does under the name Kolchoz, the second as Sovchoz, but always as Sam Vanallemeersch.
Sam Vanallemeersch AKA Kolchoz AKA Sovchoz lives with his girlfriend (who also happens to be an illustrator) in Antwerp, Belgium. They both spend too much time looking at screens, paper and comic books.
